Board approves two years additional service credit for Los Banos Unified School District retirees

The Merced County Board of Education voted unanimously Nov. 7, 2025 to adopt Resolution No. 2025-39, which designates June 23, 2025 through October 1, 2025 as the period for awarding Two Years Additional Service Credit to members eligible to retire in all classifications from the Los Banos Unified School District. The motion to approve the resolution was moved by Board Member Frank Fagundes and seconded by Board Member Rodrigo Espinosa; the vote carried 5-0.
The action took place during a special meeting called to order at 9:00 a.m. in the Merced County Office of Education Board Room. The board recorded Dennis Hanks as chairperson; members present were Geneva Brett, Frank Fagundes, Rodrigo Espinosa and Ryan Heller. The minutes note there were no public comments on the agenda or non-agenda items. The meeting adjourned at 9:10 a.m. following a separate, unanimous motion to adjourn by Ryan Heller, seconded by Geneva Brett.
