During the meeting the board approved a slate of personnel actions covering resignations, temporary leave replacements, permanent probationary hires, stipends and part-time aide appointments.
Resignations recorded included Jonathan Bannon (Tech Ed Teacher) effective June 26, 2024, and Margaret Jongebloed (Teaching Assistant) effective Aug. 21, 2024. Appointments included multiple teaching assistants and teachers as leave replacements (start dates in early September 2024) and several probationary hires through Aug. 31, 2028, such as Tyler Hauser (Tech Ed Teacher) and Maureen Vu (Fine Arts Teacher). The board also approved a Civil Service security hire (Laverne Brown) and set hourly rates for individual aides ($18.00, $18.50, and $19.00 depending on assignment). Stipends were assigned for roles including Student Resource Coordinator and CSE Chairperson.
The personnel resolutions were moved by Nancy Hancock and seconded by Steven Gellar and carried by a 7-0 vote. The board record includes specific effective dates, certification levels and salary-step references per the LFTA contract for those positions.
