Joe Reed told the Public Works Committee the county's current Constellation Energy electric contract expires in October and that pricing proposals for 3- or 4-year terms are variable. He suggested the county could consider adding the airport and other county sites to the contract.
Chair Sarah Purdy asked whether the Constellation Energy Electric Contract resolution should proceed to the full Legislature; after discussion and edits there were no formal objections to advancing the item for Legislative consideration. Reed cautioned that daily price changes make exact pricing conditional on the day a proposal is finalized.
Reed also said he is working on updating interior location signs countywide; a recent quote was close to $40,000 — above the capital number — and those signs must include braille. He said he will reach out for additional quotes.
