Director Beagler told the committee the vision-fund committee previously awarded $250,000 to Rapid City High School Baseball for improvements, and that this phase would replace the backstop, the two dugouts and create an ADA-compliant accessible walkway to the field. "They were awarded $250,000 during that process," Beagler said while outlining the project scope. The committee moved to advertise for bids and the motion passed with a second from Councilwoman Armstrong.
Council members asked whether an umpire changing room or locker-room idea from earlier years had progressed; Beagler said no further requests have been made and that existing space in a batting shed is now being used by umpires. The committee approved advertising for bids without postponement of the project.
