Students report ASB elections, fundraisers and Outdoor Ed success

Student representatives updated the board on a flurry of spring activities at Phoenix High School, including upcoming ASB elections and student-run fundraisers.
Elia Santos said PHS will hold ASB elections next week and described creative campaign materials: "there are memes, there are funny quotes, and everything you can imagine." She also said leadership sold snow cones on Friday and will continue doing so through the end of the school year. Lincoln Potochnick added that the snow cone sales were a "big hit" and that students will sell homemade pizzas at a district track meet using an oven built by the construction team.
PHS Principal Kalin Cross told the board the Grad Night Committee raised about $17,000 at a recent auction and thanked the Future Planning Center and Maggie Taylor-Cheek for organizing a decision day event for seniors. Vice Chair Rebecca Weathers praised the Outdoor Ed trip and thanked staff and chaperones for making it successful.
