The Forest County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved distribution of the county’s 25% Forest Service payment at the June 18 meeting, allocating a total of $535,091.19 across townships, the Forest Area School District and the county general fund. The largest single allocation listed was $271,862.87 to the Forest Area School District; other allocations included Howe Township $91,983.37 and Jenks Township $80,750.83.
Commissioner Snyder moved for the distribution and Commissioner Kline seconded; the motion carried unanimously. The minutes list the full breakdown of amounts for Barnett, Green, Harmony, Hickory, Howe, Jenks, Kingsley, Tionesta, the Forest Area School District and the Forest County General Fund.
