Trustee plans proposals to address Kinderhook garbage and recycling deficit

Trustee Joe Wildermuth told the board June 11 that the village faces a deficit between garbage and recycling revenue and expenses and that he plans to bring two or three proposals to the next meeting to address the shortfall.
Wildermuth noted that prior to last year the village had not been charged for recyclables and that the municipal contract for services expires next spring. He also updated the board on volunteer Mark Browne's work on Albany Avenue and William Street improvements.
No specific fee proposals or dollar figures were offered at the June 11 meeting; the trustee said proposals will be presented at a future meeting for board consideration.
