Nataly Jones of the Columbia County Board of Elections told the board the county proposes consolidating polling locations, including closing the McNary Center and shifting village polling to Ichabod Crane Central School, to reduce costs. Jones said the county estimates each election event costs about $3,000 and noted that in 2024 roughly 50% of eligible voters used absentee or early voting methods; she said postcards and signage will notify affected voters.
