Board approves $20,000 grant for new scoreboard at city baseball field

Staff member said the district, the city and the Milton Freewater Area Foundation worked through two grant cycles to secure funding and that the new scoreboard will display inning-by-inning scores and could include school-name panels for baseball, softball and soccer. "We will be getting $20,000 for a new scoreboard sign," the Staff member said. The Chair called for the motion and members approved the grant by voice vote.
Board members discussed coordinating final plans with city officials to install the board and noted the district’s athletic director had identified opportunities to add school-name panels for other sports. The board did not identify any additional budget commitments beyond installation and final approvals.
