Hemingford board approves August claims, $650,000 of internal transfers and several routine purchases

The Hemingford Public Schools Board of Education approved a slate of routine financial and operational items at its Aug. 10 regular meeting. Chair Justin Ansley called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM at South Campus; board members voted unanimously 5-0 on each motion with Micki Votruba recorded as absent.
The board approved claims for August in the amount of General Fund $239,262.60 and Building Fund $67,765.24, and separately approved transfers totaling $650,000 across four internal funds (School Nutrition $150,000; Activities $150,000; Employee Benefit $150,000; Depreciation $200,000). The minutes record all roll-call votes as Ansley Aye, Cullan Aye, Horstman Aye, Randolph Aye and Schumacher Aye.
The board also authorized payment of bills received through the end of August 2026 and approved purchase and classroom use of the high school texts Tuesdays with Morrie and Scythe. Trustees approved purchase of a 2016 RAM 2500 Tradesman from Eagle Chevrolet. Superintendent Dr. Travis Miller gave an update on bus unloading and loading procedures and administrators delivered routine reports.
The meeting adjourned at 8:32 PM. The next regular meeting is set for Sept. 14 at 7:30 PM at South Campus; a budget hearing is scheduled for 7:00 PM and a special hearing to set the final tax request at 7:15 PM that evening.
