State Liquor Authority delays start, announces bigger March docket and regional conference

The State Liquor Authority’s full-board meeting on Feb. 24 opened with an audio-visual outage that forced a brief recess, the board’s clerk said. Members later returned and Chair Lily Fan told the board the March calendar would be split across two days — March 12 for package/liquor and wine stores and March 13 for the remaining licensing and disciplinary matters — to handle a heavier-than-usual docket. "We are going to turn that into a 2 day session," Fan said during opening remarks.
Fan also announced that New York will host the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators regional meeting in Buffalo in September, an event she said was directed by the governor and last held in the state 41 years ago. The chair thanked staff for their prep work and told applicants and attendees that updated meeting notices and a banner with the revised dates are posted on the Authority’s website. The clerk told applicants with scheduling conflicts they could request to be moved to the alternate March date or the next available session.
