Water/wastewater chief reports pump‑station failure and Church Lane break; town orders battery backups and LED upgrades

Mr. Mintz, the town’s water/wastewater representative, reported two service incidents in late November: a water main break on Church Lane (Nov. 25) and a control panel/pump failure at the wastewater treatment plant (Nov. 26) that led to a brief overflow. Mintz also briefed the board on an LED replacement project for town facilities: lighting purchases arrived and must be installed by Feb. 14 to qualify for rebates; he provided a cost summary and an anticipated town rebate of roughly $500. He described plans for an annual equipment check and a four‑year battery replacement cycle, staff training and certification progress, and a consolidated maintenance schedule to track recurring tasks. Board members asked staff to coordinate the rebate paperwork and to return with any district cost allocations before formal purchase approvals.
