The Valley View ISD Board of Trustees voted to approve the district’s 2026–2027 budget for the General Fund, Child Nutrition Fund and Debt Service Fund on June 8, 2026.
Sandra Martinez, the district’s finance director, said the proposed salary increases were included in the budget and that the district’s enrollment forecast showed three fewer students than projected, a reduction she estimated would reduce revenues by about $831,000. "It’s about $831,000," Martinez said when asked about the budget impact of the enrollment change. She also said estimated per‑student revenue is $6,250 "and that’s without the additional special populations." Trustees asked follow‑up questions on miscellaneous expense increases and out‑of‑valley travel for athletics and events.
The board opened a public hearing on the budget and tax rate at 6:41 P.M.; there were no public speakers. Jaime Gaona moved to close the hearing and then moved to approve the budget as recommended by administration; both motions were seconded by Omar Garcia and passed on recorded 4–0 votes with three members absent. The board’s approval authorizes administration to implement the budget for the 2026–27 school year.
