He reported Water installed 31 meters last year and 10 so far this year, with additional installations expected due to new construction. Three new air vents were installed including one at the Combe tank (with traffic protection); two more vents will receive similar traffic protection. A pressure‑reducing valve (PRV) in the vault in front of City Hall was serviced for the first time in ten years and will be included in ongoing maintenance schedules.
In Streets, Burton said three new speed‑limit signs were installed and the new truck with sander performed well during three plowing events and two sanding actions after 11 inches of snowfall; the salt and sand shed is full. For parks and City Hall, fertilizing and mowing are underway; Burton proposed more xeriscaping to reduce outdoor water use and instituted monthly maintenance checks for small equipment. Upcoming work includes weed control, cemetery preparations for Memorial Day, and U‑Days planning.
