Executive services administrator Jennifer O. reported that the city has been awarded state appropriations of $530,000 for design and permitting of the Northeast 28th Street bridge repair and that the county's surtax match (approximately $187,500) is still being finalized. She recommended the commission adopt the resolution approving the state-funded grant agreement and authorize the expenditure of $872,279.38 for the project, which includes a city match of $342,279.38 to be paid from the infrastructure fund.
Jennifer O. said the county is preparing surtax agreements and that the city's $342,279.38 city match is an authorized use of the infrastructure fund; staff characterized the grant as a reimbursement program and advised the commission that standard reporting and verification requirements will apply. The commission moved, seconded and voted to approve the resolution; the motion passed 5-0.
"The city has received state appropriations funding in the amount of $530,000 for the design and permitting of the Northeast 28th Street bridge," Jennifer O. said as she explained the package and next steps for contract execution and reimbursement.
