Lighthouse Point issues Arbor Day proclamation, honors centenarian and police graduates

At its Jan. 13 meeting the commission proclaimed Arbor Day, named Jan. 24 as Kadena A. Tedlock Day in honor of a local 100th birthday, and recognized three police officers for completion of FBI and LEEDA leadership programs.
Commission officials read and approved a series of proclamations and recognitions at the start of the Jan. 13 meeting.
The commission proclaimed that Lighthouse Point will observe Arbor Day annually on the third Friday in January to mark the 154th anniversary of the holiday. The body also proclaimed Jan. 24, 2026 as Kadena A. Tedlock Day in recognition of Ms. Tedlock's 100th birthday and decades of teaching and volunteer service.
Commissioner Jason Joffe also recognized Commander Kurt Lai and Detective Sergeant Andrew Giannino for graduating from the FBI National Academy and Commander Christopher Oh for completing the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association program and receiving the LEEDA Trilogy award. Letters of commendation from county and state officials were presented.
