Commission approves $125,000 DEP grant with $37,338 city match for stormwater design

City staff recommended and the commission authorized a grant agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to fund design and permitting for a stormwater improvement project in priority area 2 of the city's stormwater master plan.
"City administration has received state appropriation funding in the amount of a $125,000 for the design and permitting of priority area 2, which is identified in the stormwater master plan," staff member Jennifer Oakes said, recommending that the commission adopt the resolution and approve work order No. 21 for Kimberly Horn & Associates. Staff said the total project authorization to allow design, permitting and post-design services is $162,338, with a city match of $37,338 to be paid from the stormwater fund.
Commissioners asked where the design would follow the master plan and whether staff would tweak locations based on field review; staff said they will generally follow the master plan but have identified some areas that do not need work and others that are more problematic, and that design will reflect those adjustments. The commission approved the resolution 5–0 and authorized execution of the agreement and associated work order.
