District staff and board members used the June 2 meeting to highlight recent and upcoming community outreach. Director Ashley Davies presented a video recap of the May 16 Compost Giveaway and said "approximately 3,000 bags of compost were distributed to residents," thanking staff and volunteers for their work.
Directors Andrew Nguyen and Mark Nguyen reported participating in a VNCR radio outreach segment on June 1 to publicize the July 18 Cleanup Event, review SB 1383 compliance requirements, and describe the District's cart-cleaning program. Director Tyler Diep also reported that the Legislative & Public Affairs Subcommittee moved the standalone shredding event to Sept. 12, 2026.
The outreach items were informational; no board actions or additional funding decisions were recorded in the minutes. The presentations underline the district's current emphasis on community-engagement events tied to recycling and organics-diversion efforts.
