The police representative told the council that the department has just under two weeks before new officers attend the academy and that two additional squad cars have been ordered. The department noted one vehicle assigned to K‑9 duties is experiencing repair issues and will require attention before it returns to service.
"1 1 was a k 9. You can see that the k 9 car, apparently, has some repair issues," the police representative (Speaker 4) said, noting fleet-management items alongside staffing updates. The department invited questions and said it will update the council as vehicles arrive and new officers complete training.
