Finance staff told trustees the carryforward covers three main items: fine arts band uniforms ($183,000), technology purchases (approximately $331,000), and facilities work (about $206,000). The amendment lets the district allocate funds so the purchases are reflected in the FY26–27 budget as identified by departments during year-end closing processes.
Mr. Prado explained that these are routine year-end accounting adjustments: "As we go through the process of closing the year, there are certain items that we haven't yet received ... we're asking the board to approve an amendment to allocate those dollars." Trustees approved the amendment by voice vote, 7–0.
