The City Council authorized an agreement with Huitt‑Zollars to perform comprehensive facility condition assessments of city‑owned buildings and to provide architectural programming for selected departments. Sarah Osburn, Director of Administrative Services, said many city facilities have not had a comprehensive condition assessment in decades and that the study will evaluate architectural, structural and major building systems; identify deficiencies; estimate remaining useful life; and provide order‑of‑magnitude cost estimates.
Osburn said architectural programming will document operational needs to guide future renovation or construction. Council approved the agreement and authorized the City Manager to execute the contract (motion by Ernie Quintana, second by Jerrad Besch); the vote was 6‑0.
