Board authorizes emergency purchase and bond resolution for replacement plow truck after prolonged repair delay

Supervisor Stanley described repeated delays and communication problems with the insurer and repair shop and asked the board to approve buying a turnkey 2024 five‑ton plow truck for approximately $185,646 to restore plowing capacity before winter. "...I am asking that we purchase a turnkey ... 5 ton for amount of $185,646" he said. Board members approved the emergency purchase and also approved a bond resolution authorizing the supervisor to execute a one‑year bond anticipation note (BAN) or similar short-term borrowing to finance the truck; counsel explained the BAN would be renewed if needed and structured to cover the purchase until insurance reimbursement (if any) is resolved.
The board discussed possible surplus or insurance recovery options if the repaired truck is returned; staff said they will continue to pursue reimbursement from the insurer. The motion passed on a roll call; staff will move forward with procurement and execute required financing paperwork.
