The board approved spending town occupancy-tax funds to install blackout curtains in the community center gym and stage and approved purchasing at least one automated external defibrillator (AED) for public use.
Supervisor Stanley presented three quotes for blackout curtains and tracks; the vendor BMI quoted full blackout curtains with a lifetime fire-retardant finish and a combined purchase/installation figure the supervisor said would not exceed $13,302.46. "The curtains through BMI are $7,110.26 and installation would not exceed $6,292," he said. The board agreed to proceed and use occupancy-tax funds to pay for the purchase and installation, noting the curtains will be used for events, movie nights and stage separation in emergencies.
On AEDs, the board reviewed two quotes and selected a Wi‑Fi–capable model offered with a supplier coupon. The supervisor said the board would order a unit from AedStore for $2,381.86 (after a $200 coupon) and discuss purchasing a second unit later. Board members noted the devices provide voice prompts and remote monitoring capabilities that simplify maintenance and readiness checks.
Roll-call votes recorded the measures as carried; staff will finalize ordering and schedule installation.
