Recreation Director Ward asked the commission to authorize submission of a Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FIRDAP) application for Danwick Park playground replacement and a top-lot shade canopy. Ward said the intermediate-playground replacement is estimated at $500,000 and the top-lot shade canopy at $50,000, for a combined project estimate of about $550,000; the city will apply for up to $175,000 in grant funds and expects to fund the local match if awarded.
"The estimated cost for the intermediate playground replacement is $500,000, and the top lot shade canopy installation is $50,000," Ward said, noting the city will use RMPK funding to prepare the grant submission. The commission adopted the resolution authorizing city officials to execute the application and related documents by unanimous vote.
