Committee OKs $8,096 for underground diesel tank sensor at 80th Avenue pump station

The Palos Heights Water and Sewer Committee approved a payment of $8,096.00 to B&K Equipment to remove and replace a riser and install an underground diesel tank sensor at the 80th Avenue pump station. Chairman Brennan moved the payment; Alderman Begley seconded and the voice vote was unanimous.
Director Joe Smith said the tanks are inspected annually and that after the State Fire Marshal’s inspection the sensor needs to be replaced now because it monitors fuel leaks. The committee approved the expenditure to meet the inspection requirement and improve fuel leak monitoring at the station.
