During the Committee meeting on April 7, Mayor Buckley reviewed bids for the Grant Ave Storm Sewer Project and said a low bidder had been identified but that officials had very little information about the company. Buckley said more due diligence is required and that the village is awaiting references and additional details before making a contractor selection.
The village did not award the contract at the Committee meeting. Trustees emphasized the need for references and background checks on the low bidder before any award to ensure contractor reliability and protect the village from performance risk.
Next steps include collecting references and vetting the bidder’s prior work; staff will report back to trustees once that information is obtained.
