Council approves winter decorations contract and 9/11 memorial purchase

The Municipal Grounds and Property committee reported several spending approvals at the May 5 meeting. Alderman Heather Begley moved and the council approved a $9,945 contract with Holiday Outdoor Décor to provide winter decorations on Harlem Avenue. The council also approved a $6,402 contract with Czarnik Memorials, Inc. for the city’s planned 25th anniversary 9/11 memorial.
Alderman Begley thanked Alderman Jack Clifford for his work on the 9/11 project during the committee report. Both motions passed on unanimous roll calls and will be administered by the municipal grounds department.
