The Palos Heights City Council approved a broad consent agenda at its May 5 regular meeting, authorizing routine minutes, payroll and voucher lists and several vendor payments. Alderman Jeffrey Key moved the consent agenda, and Alderman Jack Clifford seconded; the motion carried on a 6-0 roll call.
The consent items included a $5,598.37 payment to McCloud Aquatics to treat algae/Chara at Lake Katherine and professional engineering payments: $1,838.16 to Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. for the Cal-Sag Trail at Lake Katherine Phase III; $13,849.69 to Lockwood, Andrews, and Newnam, Inc. for tank and lift station rehabilitation design work; $10,438 to RJN Group for sanitary sewer rehabilitation work; and $19,536.04 to Strand Associates, Inc. for water-main CIPP lining and an alternative water supplier analysis. The roll call on the consent agenda showed six ayes and no nays.
Council members described the consent agenda as routine financial housekeeping that allows work on multiple capital and maintenance projects to proceed without delay. The approvals clear the way for contractors and engineers to continue planned work on the city’s sewer and water systems and for the Lake Katherine treatment work to proceed in the near term.
