EDC considers, then stalls on resolution to sell multiple tracts to City of Bandera; members express opposition
Summary
Board member S2 moved to approve a resolution to sell multiple EDC tracts to the City of Bandera. Several members voiced opposition during roll-call responses (multiple "Not in favor" replies), and the motion did not receive the necessary support; members discussed alternatives, including putting parcels on the market if the city declines.

The EDC board debated a resolution to convey multiple tracts of EDC-owned real property to the City of Bandera during its Jan. 22 meeting. Committee member (S2) moved to approve the resolution and asked whether the parcels could be released to the city.
"I'd like to make a motion to approve resolution for sale of multiple tracks of real property to the city of Bandera," said Committee member (S2). During the call for votes several members responded "Not in favor," and the motion was not advanced to final, unanimous approval. Discussion following the call for votes emphasized the board's desire to retain control over property uses and the option to put parcels on the market if the city declines them.
Board members noted the possibility of rezoning parcels (to a commercial classification) before sale to increase market value, and stressed that a survey and clear title work should precede any sale. The board did not finalize a sale at this meeting.
Why it matters: Conveying EDC-owned property to a municipal government would change future land-use options and potential revenue streams; the board deferred action after receiving substantial opposition during the vote.
