At its April 27 meeting the Shelter Island Town Board approved a series of personnel actions and intergovernmental contracts. The board appointed individuals to fill positions (e.g., Recreation Specialist Instructor, Board of Assessment Review, Planning Board, Community Housing Board) and reappointed multiple committee members (including the Deer and Tick Committee, Waterways Management Advisory Council, Water Quality Improvement Advisory Board and Taylor’s Island Preservation and Management Committee) for multi-year terms.
The board also authorized the Supervisor to execute contracts with Suffolk County for the AAA Transportation Program, the Nutrition Program, Shopping Assistance for the Elderly, Youth Sports and Education summer contract and State Aid youth contract for specified terms in 2025–2026, and approved an engagement letter with a CPA firm for the Community Preservation Fund financial statements. The board approved conditional hiring (e.g., Part-Time Justice Court Clerk at $27 per hour) and directed department heads to proceed as authorized by resolution language.
These personnel and contract items were adopted as routine business on the consent/resolution portion of the agenda and recorded collectively in the minutes; individual appointments and terms are listed in the adopted resolutions.
