Dakota to form seven-member zoning board to handle special-use requests at 140 W. Main St.; president authorized to approve small residential permits

The board said that, following consultation with the village attorney, a seven-member zoning board will be required to consider a special-use ordinance for a property at 140 W. Main St. President Jon Riley said he has notified the Stott family and will begin assembling the seven-member zoning board to take up the matter.
Separately, trustees adopted a motion (moved by Jeremy Knox, seconded by Ken Vrazsity) permitting the Village President to grant residential permits under $10,000 provided no variance is required. The board specified that all commercial and business permits must be approved by the full board going forward and requested that a list of already approved permits be placed on future agendas for trustee awareness.
