Finance authorized to sign multi-year tax-collection software agreement

The Tompkins County finance office received authorization to enter a multi-year agreement with Systems East Inc. to provide property-tax collection software and related services.
Daryl, who presented the request, said the three-year agreement locks a predictable rate increase and reduces the administrative burden associated with annual renewals and purchase orders. "This is the software that we use to collect taxes. We typically do an annual renewal. This will lock us in to a certain rate increase over the next 3 years and also saves us with a lot of administrative burden," Daryl said.
The committee had no substantive objections and approved the authorization by unanimous voice vote.
