The committee approved a contingent fund appropriation to replace a county highway division sign truck (ID 14200And20) after staff reported the vehicle was struck side-on and damaged beyond economical repair.
Nick said the truck "were t boned in an intersection" and confirmed the driver had only minor injuries. A committee member noted equipment on the vehicle had been fully depreciated and insurance paid no equipment value, requiring county replacement.
Legislators moved and approved the appropriation unanimously by voice vote. Staff said replacement will be treated as a contingent fund appropriation and that necessary equipment and upgrades will be included in the replacement procurement.
