A Palco resident, Don Burlison, told the council about a washed-out street south of his house and asked for permission to stage a commercial fireworks display near his storage sheds on July 4 at about 10:00 PM.
Councilmember Don Steeples moved to grant Burlison's request pending approval from Midland Marketing Co-op; Brandon Kuhn seconded and the motion carried 4-0. Burlison also asked that nearby streets be blocked prior to the display.
The council did not record additional steps to repair the washed-out street in the meeting minutes; Burlison departed at 7:38 PM after the fireworks motion was approved.
