Lead-and-copper testing delivered to 40 households; 17th Avenue water-main replacement design underway

Public Works reported lead-and-copper testing results were delivered to 40 participating households and design work has begun for the 17th Avenue water-main replacement, which will replace 6-inch mains with a 12-inch main on the 2200–2300 blocks and replace services that do not meet EPA requirements.
Public Works reported ongoing water-system work and lead-service-line testing. The minutes state that lead-and-copper testing results for the first half of 2026 were delivered to 40 households that participated in testing and results are available on the Village website (SEG 116). The department is seeking additional volunteer households for future sampling as service-line replacements occur.
The Public Works attachment also notes that Novotny Engineering has begun design engineering for the 17th Avenue water-main replacement: the 2200 and 2300 blocks of existing 6" main will be replaced with a 12" main. Any services that do not meet EPA requirements and are composed of lead, steel or iron will be replaced as part of the project; staff walked the area with engineers to determine valve and hydrant placement (SEG 125). These items were presented as part of the departmental attachments; no board vote or new local funding was recorded in the meeting minutes at this session.
