Residents urge help with basement sewage, speeding tied to Cermak Road work and yard enforcement

Michael Bryant, who identified himself as a Keystone resident, said he has experienced "many instances of sewage and water in his basement" and asked the Board whether there had been any follow-up to a collapsed sewer line that had been fixed in front of his house (SEG 010). Jim Cashin urged the Village to increase police presence to deter speeding, stop-sign violations and drivers cutting through alleys amid Cermak Road construction; he said those behaviors are creating a "dangerous and unsafe environment for the residents" (SEG 010-011). Patricia Gargano asked the Village to monitor property-maintenance violations across town, citing overgrown grass and weeds, long-standing outdoor storage or garbage, garbage placed on the wrong day, vehicles parked over sidewalks and boats or RVs left in driveways (SEG 011-012).
Board members did not take an on-the-record vote or issue a formal directive in the meeting minutes on these individual requests; the issues were recorded in public comment for potential staff follow-up. The public-comment entries are noted in the meeting minutes and attached departmental reports contain code-enforcement and public-works items that could relate to these concerns (see attachments for code-enforcement courtesy violations, 115 noted in the monthly report) (SEG 035-040).
