The Village of Davis Board decided to leave the current progressive raffle limit of $30,000.00 in place until it can consider an amendment at a special meeting set for June 13, 2025. Rich Rote, speaking on behalf of the American Legion, briefed the board about the Queen of Hearts raffle held at PJ’s Corner Bar.
Minutes note that PJ’s Corner Bar had obtained raffle permits from the state and county but had not obtained a village permit. The board directed staff to prepare an ordinance update that would add a Class B raffles category to cover future events of this type. The board also noted that a 48-hour advance notice needs to be posted to allow a vote on raising the cap at the special meeting.
