Tyler Technologies’ solutions consultant Cameron Short demonstrated the company’s myGov permitting and licensing portal, showing the public-facing portal and the staff-side dashboards that would let applicants apply online, upload documents and track review steps. "When we create an account, all that we ask for is a name, an email, and a password. It takes about 30 seconds," Short said during the live demo and explained features for fees, inspection requests and automated email notifications.
Council members pressed for local metrics and clearer cost offsets. Councilors were told the city recorded about 186 contractor entries on its spreadsheets and that FY24–25 combined permit revenue totaled about $34,000; Short outlined Tyler’s upfront fee ($4,939) and an annual subscription just over $13,000. Several members asked staff to provide a follow-up analysis showing how many permits are processed annually, what customer-support hours would be available and a projected payback period so the council can compare vendors at the February presentation.
