The council reviewed the 2025 Annual Drinking Water Report and confirmed the city will publish the report in The Minnehaha Messenger and make copies available at City Hall. The report notes the Colton public water system "has supplied fourteen consecutive years of safe drinking water to the public it serves" and that the system purchases 100% of its water from Minnehaha Community Water Corp (0432).
The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR) issued a news release recognizing Colton with a Certificate of Achievement. DANR Secretary Hunter Roberts said, "Safe and dependable drinking water plays an important role in protecting public health and supporting economic growth." The council publicly thanked Public Works Superintendent Jerrit Pedersen, and Mayor Bunde presented Pedersen with the Secretary's Award and a Certificate of Achievement for 14 years of service maintaining the city's water system.
