Julie O’Connor told commissioners that Tenafly has received a grant from Humane World (formerly the Humane Society of the United States) to support a five‑year, humane deer‑management case study. Humane World representatives will visit the borough on May 6 for a walk through areas where deer have been reported.
O’Connor said the walkthrough will include Deb Davidson from the Tenafly Nature Center, Chris Tompkins of the Parks Department (DPW), and the Borough Administrator. The commission flagged coordination with local park staff to identify the highest‑reported deer locations for that site visit.
