Fremont County reports 'historic' June sales-tax haul; June retail collections top $989,000

Sutton also presented related figures for lodging and auto-use taxes: June lodging‑fund collections totaled $106,140 (about $15,768 more than 2025) and sheriff-related retail sales-tax collections for June totaled $659,377. He suggested the uptick might reflect unusual transient activity — including traffic related to recent regional fires — while commissioners praised the unexpected fiscal boost and noted that the county will watch trends into the summer budget months.
