Commissioners pressed the applicant for peer-reviewed engineering documentation showing the proposed stormwater system will meet state and local standards and for details about how covered-parking drains will be handled near a perennial stream.
Applicant consultants said covered-parking drainage will flow through an oil/gas separator (a state requirement for covered garages) before discharge and that the system is designed to retain a 100-year storm, with an overflow mechanism for rarer events. "It's designed to hold the 100-year storm and infiltrate it back into the ground," an applicant consultant said while describing the peer-review process. Commissioners requested the final peer-review response from the conservation commission and an updated engineering memo before any decision is made.
