Ron Powell elected secretary of the Redding Council on Aging

The Redding Council on Aging unanimously elected Ron Powell as its secretary during its Aug. 10 meeting. Chair Karen Janowski opened nominations after noting the council had earlier chosen a chair and vice chair but had not yet filled the secretary role; a member nominated Powell and the chair called a roll-call vote of attendees participating in person and online.
Janowski read the roll and recorded the vote as unanimous. "It passes," the chair said after the tally, announcing the election. The council thanked Powell for agreeing to serve and noted his upcoming role in coordinating with staff on meeting administration and agenda follow-up.
The meeting moved quickly from the election into substantive updates, including construction and furnishings planning for the new Pleasant Street facility. Council members asked to be included in the furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) decisions so the senior-center perspective is represented during procurement and setup.
