Road commissioner says new truck due this fall; roadside mower may need replacement

Road Commissioner Bruce Many briefed the Selectboard on ongoing maintenance and equipment needs. Crews have completed ditching on Cobble Road and will move to Munger Street; Sunderland Tree Service is scheduled for Munger Street work. Many said the roadside mower is not as heavy duty as expected and will likely need replacement within a few years.
Many also reported the town is waiting for the body to be added to a new truck and hopes to take possession this fall. He noted repairs to the 2014 International truck exceeded the budget but were necessary after years without major investment.
