Board presses for revised buffer plan, bars replacement of removed deck in wetland application

Chair noted there was no clear description about demolition and reconstruction of the first floor and said a condition should require that a deck that had been removed not be replaced. "I would just say a condition should be that the deck that was removed cannot be replaced," the chair said.
Members discussed buffer distances and whether the town should require a 30‑foot buffer from the wetland delineation (as Theresa Mason recommended) or 25 feet measured from the top of the bank. The board asked for a revised vegetative buffer restoration plan to be submitted, reviewed and approved prior to any authorized work and agreed to include customary conditions (silt screen, native plantings, staging outside wetlands).
