The Rico Board approved both a request to expand a nonconforming structure (the Burley Building second-story deck) and a related building permit for 9 S Glasgow on May 21. The Board of Adjustment approved the expansion 5-0 after applicant Erin Johnson's presentation and public comment from Larry Carver; the Trustees then approved the building permit on the condition that adequate engineer documentation be submitted to the Town Manager prior to issuance.
The permit motion specified that the engineer documentation must demonstrate measures that "minimize any sluffing of snow into the alley way" before the permit would be issued. The conditional approval was moved by Trustee Gerrish Willis and seconded by Mayor Patrick Fallon; the roll-call vote recorded approval by the trustees present.
