Summary

County fiscal staff told the board an agreement that enabled a $25,000 payment to Together We Build was signed Aug. 13, 2024 but expired June 30, 2025, and that the county lacks authority to make a new payment under the expired document.
"That agreement expired 06/30/2025," the auditor said, and asked whether the board intended to renew the payment. Supervisors debated whether an earlier multi‑year pledge existed (mentions of $100,000 over multiple years arose in discussion) and agreed the agreement should be rewritten so that the payment could be made. One supervisor proposed a plan of "$25 a year for 3 years" (transcript phrasing) — the consensus at the meeting was to proceed with a rewritten agreement covering three years so payments could be made from the budgeted funds.
Staff did not take final action to expend funds at the meeting; they agreed to have the agreement rewritten and to ensure future board authorization for payments under the new agreement.
