Board approves Drug Free Communities grant coordinator contract; auditor corrected budget figures

Shelly Hoy of the auditor's office presented a revised contract for the Drug Free Communities grant coordinator and said she corrected the contract total to align with the DFC budgeted salary and removed office-space and internet costs that will be covered by a separate lease.
"I corrected the total amount to match what is in the, DFC grant, budgeted salary," Hoy said. Board members asked whether federal reimbursement timing (the transcript referenced a 45-day reimbursement window) would delay salary and insurance payments; Hoy said a claim would be submitted and that payments were expected to be processed in the next claim period, scheduled for Nov. 7. The board moved to approve the coordinator contract (the motion named Don Nelson as the coordinator) and welcomed the appointee.
Board members discussed coordination with the partner organization providing office space and next steps for keys, phone setup and bookkeeping. Hoy confirmed the position will report at least quarterly to the board as required by the grant.
