Grants Coordinator Jay Roscup briefed the committee that the Wallace project remains on schedule and that the Children's Funding Coordinator position is expected to begin on July 1.
Roscup said he is preparing two Department of Justice grant applications for the sheriff’s office and continues to pursue federal funding opportunities, but cautioned that some federal programs are less available or have reduced allocations than in prior years. He noted New York State playground grant applications are open and several local school districts are preparing submissions. Roscup said the state budget appears largely unchanged from the prior year while federal distributions are tightening, so he is proceeding cautiously on federal projects.
