On Feb. 4, 2026, the Mason Consolidated Schools Board of Education met in the Mason Senior High School Cafeteria. President Otting called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., with board members England, Fowler, Grodi, Nehrig, Otting and Waller present.
The board approved a revised agenda, heard a student‑council update from Molly Sepulveda, and received the superintendent’s report, which included celebrations from the first semester, an operations brief on an energy‑efficiency review by Trane Technologies and the development of a new fifth‑grade CHOICE program. Administrators reported several donations to student programs and boosters totaling $2,590 across four gifts.
During action items the board approved Middle School course additions for woodshop and robotics/coding (each passed 5-1 with Fowler recorded as the dissent), and approved High School American Sign Language and AP Biology courses (both passed 6-0). The board also appointed Melissa Fortner to the open school‑board seat by unanimous roll call and held two closed sessions under statutory exceptions listed in the minutes.
The board approved the consent agenda, which included meeting minutes, the January check register and travel approvals for staff and students. The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Mason Senior High School Library.
